Using Mouse and Changing its Properties
The mouse is an essential input device used for navigation, selection, and interaction. You can customize its settings such as speed, pointer size, button functions, and scroll behavior. Below are steps for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Basic Mouse Functions
- Left Click: Selects items, opens files, and interacts with UI.
- Right Click: Opens context menus for more options.
- Double Click: Opens files, folders, and applications.
- Scroll Wheel: Scrolls up and down on pages or documents.
- Drag and Drop: Moves files, folders, or selects text.
Changing Mouse Properties in Windows 🖥️
🔹 Accessing Mouse Settings
- Open Settings (Win + I) → Devices → Mouse.
- Customize different settings such as buttons, speed, and scroll behavior.
🔹 Changing Mouse Speed & Sensitivity
- Click Additional mouse options (under Related Settings).
- In the Pointer Options tab:
- Adjust the pointer speed.
- Enable Enhance pointer precision (for smoother movement).
🔹 Changing Button Configuration (For Left-Handed Users)
- Go to Settings → Mouse.
- Under Primary button, switch from Left to Right.
